 What's New for the 2026 MAZDA CX-50?

Mazda introduced the Mazda CX-50 compact crossover SUV to its lineup in 2023. This model is designed to be a larger and more capable version of the popular Mazda CX-5. Going into the 2026 model year, Mazda moves the Mazda CX-50 forward without any significant updates.

Mazda's recognized body language is displayed from front to rear, and its sleek styling combines off-road-inspired touches. The Mazda CX-50 stands apart from other Mazda models with its squared-off design elements. These elements include the fenders and hood. The side contouring adds an edgy touch with a crisp accent line that highlights the contours. The model's hood makes a sharp descent toward the rear before sloping into the raked liftgate. Dark body molding runs from bumper to bumper for a rugged touch. The wide grille is styled with a curved bottom, and its sides are accented by LED bars. These bars extend outward to connect with the sporty LED headlights.

The Mazda CX-50 is available with seven gas-powered trim levels and three hybrid trim levels. The first four trim levels are available with a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter engine that produces 187 horsepower. The mid-level trims have a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine mated with three electric motors. This plug-in hybrid system gives you 219 combined horsepower. The remaining trims are available with a turbo 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine, and this engine offers 227 horsepower. If you use high-octane fuel with the turbo system, the output shoots up to 256 horsepower. Every Mazda CX-50 comes with standard all-wheel drive.

The entry-level Mazda CX-50 Select is available with a remote keyless entry, a dual-zone auto climate control system, synthetic leather upholstery, a keyless engine starter, a 10.25-inch infotainment system screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a blind-spot warning system, forward collision mitigation, and more.

If you select one of the Mazda CX-50's higher trim levels, your crossover may also come with a power liftgate, a panoramic sunroof, power-folding side mirrors, leather upholstery, and a Bose audio system with 12 speakers. Other available features include memory settings for the driver's seat, a wireless phone charger, a head-up display, heated seats, reverse auto braking, parking sensors, a surround-view monitor, and other features.
