Serving Chicago, IL
Mazda expands its SUV lineup in the 2025 model year with the debut of the Mazda CX-70 and Mazda CX-70 PHEV. These two-row, midsize models are designed after the three-row Mazda CX-90 SUV but have essential differences. Because these are new additions to the lineup, the 2025 Mazda CX-70 and the 2025 Mazda CX-70 PHEV deserve a detailed review as you prepare to make your upcoming purchase.
Performance
The 2025 Mazda CX-70 is available with two gas powertrain options. The turbocharged 3.3-liter I-6 engine is in the 3.3 Turbo trim and delivers 280 horsepower. A modified variation of this engine that generates 340 horsepower is in the 3.3 Turbo S trim. For the 2025 Mazda CX-70 PHEV, an electric motor combines with a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine to generate 323 total horsepower. An eight-speed auto transmission and all-wheel drive are standard for both models.
Appearance
The Mazda CX-70 and the Mazda CX-70 PHEV are styled almost identically. The Mazda CX-70 PHEV stands apart with its charging port. The models have a tapered, athletic roof line and modern, smooth sides. A forward-placed air intake and minor body molding dress up the sides. From the front view, these models have a tall, slightly curved nose with a wide grille, and the small headlights link to the grille via an angled LED ribbon. Below the headlights, the innovative shape of the air intake adds distinction. Exterior features available for both the Mazda CX-70 and the Mazda CX-70 PHEV are a hands-free liftgate, roof rails, a panoramic sunroof, up to 21-inch wheels, self-leveling, and adaptive headlights.
Features
You will find the same available and standard features in the 2025 Mazda CX-70 and the 2025 Mazda CX-70 PHEV. Some of these include a 12.3-inch central display screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Pandora, Amazon Alexa, Mazda Connect, USB ports in the front and rear rows, adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, a safe exit alert, driver's memory settings, a navigation system, a Bose sound system with 12 speakers, lane keep assistance, a rear seat reminder, a digital instrument display screen, heated seats for both rows, front cross-traffic collision avoidance, reverse auto braking, a surround-view camera, premium leather upholstery and a heated steering wheel.
