The sleek and sporty Mazda3 delivers all of the style and features that you want in your next compact car. In 2026, the Mazda3 continues to be available in your choice of sedan and hatchback body styles. While most of the differences between these options are found on the exterior, there are a few other differences to pay attention to as you make your next car selection.
Performance
Both the 2026 Mazda3 hatchback and sedan body styles are available with two engines. These are the 2.5 S and the 2.5 Turbo. The Mazda3 2.5 S comes with a 191-horsepower, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. This system features a six-speed automatic transmission and offers the option for all-wheel drive. The Mazda3 2.5 Turbo is outfitted with a 2.5-liter turbo, four-cylinder engine. Running on standard fuel, it delivers 227 horsepower. With high-octane fuel, it produces 250 horsepower. This engine features standard all-wheel drive.
Appearance
The 2026 Mazda3 Hatchback features an athletic yet contemporary design, characterized by a sultry, flowing profile and a strongly raked rear. The long hood is boldly defined, and the sides are flawlessly sculpted with pronounced back haunches. On the nose, the hatchback body style shows off a wide grille with a curved bottom that rises up on the sides to connect with the headlights. The LED headlights are slender and dramatically angled. The Mazda3 Sedan is similarly styled except across the profile and rear. It features a longer, arched roofline that gradually fades toward the rear, extending across the trunk lid.
Features
Many of the features offered in the Mazda3 are available in both body styles. Some of these are lane centering, heated seats, paddle shifters on the heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, a navigation system, a wireless charging pad, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch central display screen, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, an Alexa voice assistant, driver's memory settings, a sunroof, and other features. The Premium trim level is exclusively available with the hatchback body style, and it adds a head-up display, traffic sign recognition integrated with the navigation system, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system.
